Several teachers have asked me about a good way to point their students towards specific websites and resources other than simply handing them a list of links. Symbaloo is the perfect answer! Symbaloo is a more visual way to store a collection of bookmarks. Once you create your free teacher account you can begin customizing pages of tiles that link to specific websites. You can even create different pages for individual units of study or sections you are teaching. For example I have created the following Symbaloo page TECH TIP TUESDAY which is a collection of useful tools, blogs and articles dealing with educational technology. Teachers can share Symbaloo pages in the Symbaloo gallery or with a select group of students or coworkers by sending them a shared link, or posting the shared link on your course page. At any time you can stop sharing the page in order to make it private again.
I find Symbaloo to be a great tool to keep track of web sources and tools in an organized, easy to use method. To start using Symbaloo visit www.symbaloo.com to create your own account today. Accounts are only needed in order to build your own page, which means students do not need an account to view pages you share with them. There is even a Symbaloo app for the iPad! Please let me know if I can help you use Symbaloo in your classroom.
