NO NEED TO RECREATE THE WHEEL

Creating meaningful, blended lessons doesn’t mean you have to start from scratch. There is no need to re-invent the wheel when you can use educational videos that others have already produced.  Embed the video on to your course page (directions below), add discussion board questions, a Voice Thread, or another collaborative tool, and you have created a blended learning lesson!

Where can you find videos?

Ted Talks and Khan Academy videos are a great place to start, but YouTube is also filled with great educational videos that are waiting for you to use! Holton’s YouTube channel also has great teacher created videos.

How can you post the videos on you course page?

To insert media simply paste the URL from YouTube into the File/URL field on the full popup editor, pictured below on the left.  Follow the link to view a short screen cast demonstrating the process – NOTE: because the video is posted on Holton's course page, you must be logged into the faculty/staff portal in order to view it.
